More infoGavin returns to the Bayerischer Staatsballett in three performances forming part of the festival "The World of John Neumeier" in Baden-Baden, as the company present again Neumeier's journey of the tortured soul that was King Ludwig II, and his infatuation with Swan Lake. Gavin also returns to conduct the work with the Philharmonie Baden-Baden.

London Coliseum
More infoGavin returns to very familiar ground for the festive season as he returns in his role as Principal Guest Conductor of English National Ballet to conduct eleven performances of Aaron S. Watkin and Arielle Smith's effervescent production of The Nutcracker, with luxuriant designs by Dick Bird and Tchaikovsky's iconic score played as always by the ENB Philharmonic. The tradition of ENB's Nutcracker at the London Coliseum continues with magical delight!

London Coliseum
More infoRudolf Nureyev's classic and passionate telling of the Shakespeare play returns to the London Coliseum, danced by the company that premiered it in 1977 - English National Ballet. Clearly a part of the DNA of the company, it never fails to excite audiences, with Prokofiev's memorable score dramatically performed by the English National Ballet Philharmonic.
Gavin conducts the final six performances of the season.

Sunderland Empire
More infoFollowing its world premiere the previous month at the Birmingham Hippodrome, Gavin returns to conduct his own arrangement of Minkus' classic score for La Bayadère, recast as a new tale set in Italy and choreographed by BRB Artistic Director Carlos Acosta. A double-delight as he returns to his North East roots to perform in the beautiful Sunderland Empire Theatre. The music is of course performed by another orchestra with which Gavin has had thirty years' of association - the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

Vienna State Opera House
More infoA world premiere programme from Spring 2026 for the Vienna State Ballet, Gavin returns to the company in a triple bill of works, with live music involved in two - Heatscape, with Justin Peck's choreography matched with Bohuslav Martinu's first Piano Concerto (with soloist Yoko Kikuchi); and Yugen, where choreography by Sir Wayne McGregor is paired with Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms (featuring the Arnold Schonberg Choir). The other work is Twyla Tharp's iconic work In The Upper Room, to a score by Philip Glass.
Gavin conducts the Vienna State Opera Orchestra for all five performances.

More infoFollowing on from the performances last Autumn in Baden-Baden, Gavin returns to the Staatsballett for four further performances of Neumeier's perennial Munich favourite, this time back at their home in Munich, with the Bayerischer Staatsorchester providing the performance of the beautiful Tchaikovsky score.

More infoGavin first conducted Christopher Wheeldon's work for the Staatsballett in its 2020/21 season, and having delighted audiences so many times, the magical story returns to Munich for 6 performances at the State Opera House. Prokofiev's music skilfully propels the drama of the tale, and Gavin is delighted to be conducting the Bayerischer Staatsorchester again in their ebulliant interpretation.

Royal Albert Hall
More infoIn celebration of its 30th year of production, ENB returns to the Royal Albert Hall to perform Derek Deane's exceptional and expansive version of Swan Lake, with sixty swans and many further feasts for the eye as the arena of the Royal Albert Hall is filled with the engaging work, with Tchaikovsky's important score performed live as always by the ENB Philharmonic.
Gavin returns to the Albert Hall rostrum for the premiere, and also conducts the final three perfomances of the run.
